Restore native habitat in Sylva!
Mainspring is partnering with MountainTrue and Pinnacle Park Foundation to host an invasive plant removal workday at the Pinnacle Park in Sylva. This workday will be targeting nonnative invasive shrubs like Chinese privet, Burning bush, and Autumn olive which are notorious for outcompeting native flora.
Come out and help us maintain the wildlife habitat and natural beauty of this amazing park! No prior experience is necessary; we will provide tools and training. We will have large and small tasks available, so volunteers will not need to be able to do strenuous physical labor in order to participate. Please register in advance so that we will have enough tools, gloves, etc. Please leave pets at home.
The workday will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd from 1-4pm.
Please bring:
Closed-toed shoes (required)
Long pants
Long-sleeved shirts (recommended)
Water
Any medications you may need
To register for this workday, visit MountainTrue’s website. Contact western region program associate Eve Davis with any questions.
