Learn about Mainspring’s newest volunteer program- a native seed library!
We are excited to launch our new program, the WNC Wildseed Library (WWL)! The WWL will distribute local, native seeds to our community for free, with the overarching intentions of increasing wildlife habitat and encouraging appreciation for native plants. You’ve supported Mainspring’s conservation efforts, and now we hope to support your conservation (and gardening) efforts by making it easy for you to access and grow native plants!
During this talk, we will first discuss how native plants differ from exotic plants and nonnative invasive plants, and why they are so important to humans, wildlife, and the earth. Then, we will move into describing the how the WNC Wildseed Library will work and some of the services it will provide, including seed processing training, germination workshops, and of course, free, local, native seeds! Finally, we will explain why community support is crucial to the success of the WWL, and how you can help by volunteering, donating seed, growing plants, or donating financially.
We invite you to join our webinar on Tuesday, March 25th at 6:00pm to learn about this initiative. This webinar will run for about one hour and will be followed by a Q&A session. A recording will be sent to all who register.
To register, please fill out the form below. In the days leading up to the webinar, we will distribute a Zoom link.
